O inscenaci

The European premiere of “The Man With No Name”—one of the final productions developed within the walls of Moscow’s renowned Gogol Center—will be staged in Tallinn, Berlin, Duisburg, Frankfurt, and Prague.
The play is the result of a collaboration between Kirill Serebrennikov, Nikita Kukushkin, Petr Aidu, and Alexander Barmenkov.

Composer Petr Aidu has crafted a one-of-a-kind instrument for the performance: the “Pangarmonikon”, a remarkable creation made from ten reassembled pianos, capable of producing music with minimal human involvement.

The main role, performed by Nikita Kukushkin, follows a character undergoing a series of reincarnations—like a wandering soul from the Tibetan “Book of the Dead”—traveling from a subway car to the past, into Beethoven’s era, and into a yet-unrealized future whose contours are already beginning to take shape in the present.

The play will be performed in Russian.
