Actor, singer, dancer, stage designer and director Jan Kříž danced in the 100th reprise of one of the world’s most classic musicals. The jubilee reprise took place on April 29th, 2023, 4. from 18:00. After the performance, the actors and creators of the legendary musical Singin’ in the Rain surprised him with a cake. He returned to the lead role of Don Lockwood after 3 years and, as critics have pointed out, he has also matured more into it. Jan enjoys the classic love story set in late 1920s Hollywood as well as dancing, singing and challenging tap-dancing numbers. “Thank you very much! I’m happy,”says Jan.
Singin’ in the Rain, a retro musical about the early days of sound film, has had ten theatrical productions in this country. It was first staged in Ostrava in 1999, and two years later at the Karlín Music Theatre. One of the most successful versions in Liberec has been newly adapted for the Hybernia Theatre. The performance of Singin’ in the Rain continues here also in the 2023/2024 season.
