The unforgettable chorus melody of the song “Nedotýkejte se andělu” (Don’t Touch the Angels) sounds through the entire performance Forget Shakespeare!. Janek Ledecký will release it as a single on October 20, 2023. “Forget Shakespeare! is a musical comedy about people who have fallen for theatre. When I set out to compose the music, I knew the theme song had to be about the fragility and vulnerability of the artistic soul. The first thing that came to my mind was “Don’t Touch the Angels”. Since May, I’ve included the song in the repertoire of my summer Open-Air tour to test the reaction of the audience. In almost forty years of my career, it has never happened to me that a song that has not been played on the radio, on television and was not published on the networks, has been sung by everyone from the second chorus onwards. So: don’t touch the fallen angels!”, says Janek Ledecký.
Janek Ledecký wrote this new musical comedy about the destruction of the theatre for twelve actors seven years after his last premiere of the musical Iago. The opening night will take place on 28 October at 18:00 at the Hybernia Theatre.
