The Kandráčovci group was founded in 2004 by its leader Ondrej Kandráč. The members of this group are former musicians from various folklore ensembles. The musicians cooperate closely with the regional broadcaster RTVS in Košice.

The Kandráčovci have released a number of albums. For example, with the Slovak Radio Records label there were two extremely successful recordings – “A čija to chyža” and “Sinu muj” from 2004 and 2005. Later on, other albums were released.

In 2008 Kandráčovci were the first folk music band in Slovakia to receive two platinum records at the same time for their premiere album – the aforementioned title “A čija to chyža” and “Sinu muj! Two years later they added another platinum record for the project “Oj, zabava”, which became their first debut.

This also shows the professional qualities of these musicians. After the title “Oj zabava” came in 2012 a particularly successful album “Dva Duby”. It was also connected with the extremely popular concert, which could be seen by the audience in different parts of Slovakia.

In the autumn of 2014, Kandráčovci went on a concert tour to celebrate their tenth birthday in large sports halls in the cities of Eastern Slovakia, which they managed to sell out! On this occasion, a record – 10 years with you – was released in the autumn, which contains more songs from the band’s production. The first ever DVD&CD Kandráčovci – Galakoncert was created from the mentioned concert tour on the occasion of the band’s anniversary. The band played accompanied by Jula Selčan’s orchestra, St. Cecilia’s Choir, duo Farsa and introduced singing guests Monika Kandráčová, Anka Poráčová, Veronika Šoltysová Rabadová and Tereza Mandzáková with whom they are currently collaborating. In October 2016, Kandráčovci released another album “Sokoly”, which followed the successful album Dva duby after four years. It brings more great hits like: Šaľený východ, Na kostolnej věži, Nečakaj ma milá…
