About the inscenation
A fairy-tale musical not only about the search for true happiness.
The original version of the Broadway musical Finian’s Rainbow captivated the Czech duo V+W so much that, right after their joint return from exile, they adapted it for the Czech stage, relocating it into Czech realities. The central character became the water sprite Čochtan, a role that Jan Werich tailored specifically for himself, while Jiří Voskovec directed the play. The Magic Pot was also their last joint play, and it featured several prominent artists, such as Ljuba Hermanová and Soňa Červená. Finian’s Rainbow (The Magic Pot in czech) by V+W, with its kindness and subtle humor, not only reflects the age-old wish for the triumph of good over evil but also emphasizes the urgent feeling that we have only one home. And how it feels when it’s so far away, “over there, beyond that rainbow.”
VIP tickets (rows 10 and 11) include a backstage tour, including a visit to the terrace with a beautiful view of Prague.
Please note that seats in the 1st row have limited legroom. If you need more space for any reason, we kindly ask you to choose a different row. Thank you for your understanding.
