About the inscenation

Slade, undoubtedly one of the most famous British bands, will return to the Czech Republic next year! They will delight and entertain audiences in Prague and Mikulov with their classic blend of pop-rock’n’roll. Slade have gained popularity all over the world, which is evidenced by the fact that 23 songs from their repertoire were in the Top 20 charts at the time of their release, and six of them even reached the top of the charts. Their songs “Cum On Feel The Noize” and “Coz I Luv You” are still heavily played on the radio airwaves and used in television commercials.

The band Slade has been on the music scene since 1966 when they were formed under the name N’Betweens. The founding members were Dave Hill and Don Powell, who are still active in the formation today. They later changed their name to Ambrose Slade, which they eventually shortened to Slade.

The band was known for their raucous live shows and lively communication with the audience, and you can expect the same from them at their concerts in the Czech Republic. In popularity they surpassed all their glam rock contemporaries Wizzard, Sweet, T. Rex, Suzi Quatro, Smokie, Gary Glitter and David Bowie. Slade’s work significantly influenced the further development of rock music. Although they didn’t make much of a name for themselves in the US, many bands admit to being inspired by Slade (the famous KISS to name a few).

During their 2016 visit, the band celebrated 50 years of existence with us. The current line-up for the August shows is Dave Hill (guitar, vocals), Alex Bines (drums, percussion), John Berry (vocals, bass, violin), Russell Keefe (vocals, keyboards).

They are now returning to the Czech Republic in full force after several years of hiatus. They have chosen the Amphitheatre in Mikulov for their performance in Moravia and will be joined by domestic bands to be announced soon.
