Václav Neckář is one of the icons of Czech pop music. He has been on the music scene since the early 1960s. , sang countless hits and released dozens of albums. Together with Marta Kubišová and Helena Vondráčková, he was a member of the legendary Golden Kids trio, achieved recognition abroad and also made a name for himself as an actor – the film Ostře sledované vlaky (Sharply Watched Trains), in which he played the lead role, won an Oscar.

Václav celebrates his 80th birthday at October 23, 2023. On the eve of the celebrations, he decided to organize an exceptional gala concert at the Hybernia Theatre, where he and his band Bacily, augmented by the string quartet Quartissimoa, will sing the greatest hits from his repertoire. During the more than two-hour performance, exclusive guests – singer and songwriter Jaromír Nohavica, frontman of the band Chinaski, Michal Malátný, and the frontman of the band Jelen, Jindra Polák. The Golden Kids era will be commemorated by Jan Cina, Berenika Kohoutová and Sara Sandeva, who will portray the famous singing trio in the theatrical performance Marta performed at the Summer Stage of the Kampa Museum.

Václav’s narrative autobiographical book will also be presented at the concert and a new live album will be introduced.
